Waterproof cameras are nothing new, companies are releasing them all the time, each having new features that are trying to one up those of their competitor. In most cases however, these compact cameras do not float, if one just so happens to slip out of your hands, it’s may just be the ocean floor for it.
It now appears that someone has made a simple modification to the basic design allowing the device to float. Enter the Speedo Aquashot, a 5-megapixel digital camera that includes a 4x digital zoom and of course floats so that you are guaranteed to have your picture memories at the end of the day.
The device is available in either a green or pink color with the expectation being that the bright colors will make your camera a little more visible in the event that it escapes your fingertips. One thing to note is that the camera is only waterproof up to a water depth of 9-feet so you’ll get some good digital snaps while snorkeling but you wouldn’t want to add this device to your underwater gear.
The Speedo Aquashot sells for $137.
